Yes, I'm not sure what it was, but something was bugging me today. Stress up the wazoo and unfortunate events tend to bum someone out.
I took a good four hours off, got my homework done early and went out to dinner with my boyfriend. Later, we watched a movie, and I am less stressed just by taking time off, kicking back and relaxing.
Try it sometime. It's a pretty awesome feeling.
Don't worry so much about finals. They're just one test.

Stress Relievers
According to About.com, these are some stress relievers that should be given a try.
1) Journaling
2) Yoga
3) Breathing
4) Plant a garden (yet it's snowing outside, so maybe you should try one of the other
ones.)
5) Light a candle.
6) Drink green tea
7) Take a walk
8) Listen to music
9) Reduce caffeine intake
10) Laugh. (my personal favorite.)

Sometimes, all you need is to hang around a little kid.
There are more important things in life than worrying about your next grade, if you're going to get into college and if your job is going to pay enough to support yourself.
Granted, these things are very important.
I just came back from meeting my little brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters. My little brother's name is Arnaldo; he is so adorable. Even at eight-years-old this little boy has taught me to take a second and take a breath.
Just spending an hour with him made me smile so much and forget for a minute what was waiting for me on my computer when I arrived home.
Sometimes you just need to take a minute (or hour) out of your day and de-stress or take a nap for an hour or so. Sit back and take a look around. Think about why you're trying to get the A, trying to get into college or why you're trying so hard to fit in with a group you never really did in the first place.
It really puts some things into perspective. But you always have to come back and make sure everything gets done. Like right now.
Off to write an AP chem lab.

For the Grade
There's no denying it. We do the finals and we do them well only to get a good grade. When was the last time the teacher told you he didn't like what you were writing or creating or how you were making your project/final and you continued it anyway because it was your creation and your vision?
I'll tell you when I last had that happen to me- last year.
During my Graphics, Communications and Printing class I had to design an ad as part of my midterm. Every aspect of my design completely hit the demographic and followed every guideline set, yet my teacher told me he wasn't too crazy about it.
Since this was an art-type class and it was free interpretation, I did my design anyway, partly because I wouldn't have time to re-do everything but mostly because this was my design. I had planned and thought it out, sketched it, designed and created it. I was not about to change all of that so my teacher would like what I did.
I learned the hard way that high school projects are done for the grade.
D- in hand, during my final I re-thought what kind of ad I was going to do this time. This time around, my teacher said he liked my design; even though I personally didn't care at all for it, I turned it in and got an A.
It's all for the grade.

Senior ...Privileges?
So why get all haughty during finals?
For me, finals are usually not a big deal of stress, unless they are those horrendous x-number of pages questions dating back from the first day of class complete with essays.
Since I am a senior, I have the privilege of not taking as many finals as I should have to. If seniors have a 90 or above semester average in a class they may be exempt from taking the final.
Therefore, recently I have not been freaking out about the actual finals persay, but instead the final act of making sure I have a 90 average.
And that is no fun.

Finals Finals FINALS!
It's final season.
For many students and teachers alike, this past statement creates a stress headache just from reading it.
I know that with only four high-school classes vs. seven middle-school ones, this final season should be easier than the ones at middle school.
Emphasis on should.
With classes like photography, AP chemistry, Journalism and Public Speaking, the finals don't seem that strenuous. Too bad everything isn't what it seems.
Photographs with a story revolving around them, a rock-n-roll literary analysis textbook (yes, I said textbook), 10-page papers, portfolios, mandalas and their analysis, a written Rock Window analysis of a song, an hour-long presentation and a few good-ole standard 200 question exams are what I have to look forward to in the next week.
And people asked why I'm stressed.
